This in-person session focuses only on the family case conference – which is one of the most important tools in family proceedings. Being prepared and effective at a case conference can hugely impact the direction of your legal matter. This session provides you with everything you need to know and explains what, when, why, and how to use a case conference. Content includes how to:
- schedule, prepare for, and conduct yourself at a case conference;
- what to expect when you get in the courtroom;
- the court required Case Conference Information Statement (“CMIS”);
- tips for effectively completing a CMIS and advancing issues.
This is a 1 hour session and includes a question/answer period.
This session is a must for anyone involved in family proceedings, especially self-represented parties.
